-- FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS --

ARE YOU A CHRISTIAN?
Yes, I love Jesus and I love having a relationship with Him. The relationship I have with Jesus is one of the best things in my life and I wouldn't be who I am today without Him.  I am in awe every day of how much Jesus loves me and that He was willing to give is life for me. I've never had any one love me like Jesus loves me. My hope is that the love Jesus has for me pours out into this space and this community.

WHERE DO YOU LIVE?
Currently, we live in a tiny little village called Pleasantville in the lovely state of New York. After spending our first three years of marriage in Los Angeles I was ready for small town living. I was over the moon when we stumbled into our own little Stars Hallow (*any Gilmore Girls fans out there?) Even though we've now been coast to caost, Tyler and I both grew up in Missouri. I'm a mid-west girl through and through. forever.

YOUR PHOTOS ARE SO BEAUTIFUL, DO YOU HAVE ANY TIPS FOR ME?
Absolutely, you can find a lots of photography tips here. Also, be on the look out for my upcoming e-course and personal coaching!

WHAT KIND OF CAMERA DO YOU USE?
We shoot with a Nikon D300s and I Nikon D700. We primarily shoot with the Nikkor 50mm f/1.8 and a Nikkor 35mm f/1.8. You can read more about our lenses here. My very first camera was a Nikon D60, which was a great camera to start my journey with and learn how to shoot manually.

WHAT DO YOU USE TO EDIT YOUR PHOTOS?
We use photoshop CS4, but we also have photoshop elements on one of the laptops. We also use Bamboo Wacom tablets. Which is great for photo editing and design.

DO YOU TAKE YOUR OWN STYLE PHOTOS?
My husband, Tyler, takes all of my style photos and we work really hard to maintain consistent quality. It's so fun and seeing Tyler become a photographer has been such a joy for me.

WHAT DOES ELAH TREE MEAN?
Elah is Hebrew, meaning "Oak," "Mighty Tree," or "terebinth." Read more about why I chose it here.
Favorite Biblical Elah reference:

- The valley of Elah runs east and west just north of Socoh. There David defeated Goliath.
{The priest replied, “The sword of Goliath the Philistine, whom you killed in the Valley of Elah, is here; it is wrapped in a cloth behind the ephod. If you want it, take it; there is no sword here but that one.” David said, “There is none like it; give it to me.”} I Samuel 21:9
