5 Things // Vol. 08

When you ask your husband to make you a splint and he delivers. Last week my finger was hurting, kind of a lot. Having my pinky finger bother me isn't a new thing. I blame constant use of our wacom tablet. I also like to pretend it's a pre-existing injury. I broke that pinky in high school. So I decided it needed a splint and it totally helped. Plus it was pretty and I love that it looked like a tiny cast.
Tyler fixed our monitor! Hot dang! And it only cost $15! A friend of ours had given us his monitor because it wasn't working. So, Tyler hopped on youtube, did some research, got the necessary supplies and got it working. We were super pumped!
I played Mafia for the first time. I've decided this game is very stressful and I didn't really like throwing everyone else under the bus. As we played I decided I didn't want to kill anyone, so we put them in jail instead. Even though they are just cards, but I felt really bad killing my husband's and friend Shane's mafia members. I'm on of those people.
Tyler surprised me with these fun goodies! Anytime I looked through our Disney movies I always said there was something wrong with us because we didn't have The Little Mermaid. Who doesn't have the The Little Mermaid. I grew up on that movie, Princess Prince Eric is my favorite Prince.
I've been working on putting together a blog binder and it is almost finished! I am super pumped about this! I had been using a binder prior to this, kind of, it was pretty useless. I'll be sharing more about it next week! Can't wait!

How was your week? Spill the beans!

  1. I learned a new card game that was pretty similar to Mafia this weekend--and yes, such games are pretty stressful, I think the game we played involves even more lying and betrayal than Mafia does if that's possible--but I do enjoy those games! haha!

    1. That is awesome! I didn't even notice it matched! Haha! That is kind of how I felt about my old binder, it didn't have any organization and just a hot mess.

  6. Your little splint is quite impressive! I hope your finger is feeling much better soon! I had no idea there was a Mafia card game! I would be the same way about wanting to put people in jail instead of having to "kill" them!

  7. Sorry to hear about your pinky!

I think I have played Mafia with real cards (is that possible?!?!?) and I didn't really like it either...I want to win, but I don't want to MAKE other people lose.

I'm excited to see what you keep in your blogging binder! I've used one off and on but this year I started fresh and it has been really helpful. :)

    1. I think you can play with regular cards! Meg said she played with UNO cards so I bet it would work.
The more I blog the more I need one and I wanted to make sure it would work for everything I needed. :)

And- I didn't know that mafia was a card game now...? We have always just used a regular deck- but this game is totally stressful to me too! I am a TERRIBLE liar, and my husband is a fantastic liar...so he always wins!

  13. Yikes! I hope your pinkies feel better. That splint really is amazing! It's kinda weird, I was born with crooked pinkies and they hurt on occasion. I feel your pain! ;)

Oh man we LOVE mafia! We play it all the time!

The Little Mermaid is one of our faves in this house! Prince Eric was definitely the best until Flynn Rider came along. He's pretty hunky ;)
