One Line A Day

When I turned 26 my friend Caitlin surprised me with this gift.  One Line A Day, a five-year memory book. The idea behind the book is really neat. You write down things about each day every day of the year. The first year I did really well and a couple of Saturdays ago I read through some of the pages. It was really cool because I got to read about lots of really hard days at my old job and then I got to read about the days leading up to quitting that job I'm really looking forward to getting back to writing down my memories. Especially since reading The Circle Maker. I can't wait to write down each day that God answers our prayers.
How do you document your everyday memories?

    1. A question a day, that's neat. How does that work? Is it like self-reflection?

  2. I LOVE this idea! I've always wanted A Ten Year Journal (same idea but for ten years), but maybe something smaller is little more reasonable :). Great idea. Do you know where I could get one online? I didn't see a link for it...

  5. I noticed these at the store the other day! It looked really interesting, and I may drop some hints to The Mr. for my birthday! Now, I journal in a notebook, but this looks like taking the main thought of the day and putting them all in one place! Love it!

  8. I love this idea! I've seen this book at a store before and wasn't sure if I'd keep up with it. I may have to go pick it up for myself! Especially since I'm going through such a life change (losing my job, pursuing new careers) it might be really cool to be able to look back on my day-to-day thoughts.

    Thanks for sharing this!

  11. Have you ever read Ann Voskamp's 1000 gifts? I started a Thankfulness journal after reading that book and it's revolutionary. It really is. You'll be so glad you're recording your days in short blips like this.

    1. I've never read it, but I've heard so many great things about it! It was my goal this year to write down five things I'm thankful for each day. I haven't been doing very good... I should get back in to.

  13. I love the idea of this.
I kept a journal for years but have stopped writing over the past year as I kept forgetting so now I don't bother. But a few lines a day doesn't seem like much of a commitment so I might look out for a similar book.

    1. Absolutely! It's so easy to just jot down a line from the day and I love that it helps to really remember the day.

  15. Love this idea! I've seen the book in stores, too! I thought it would be really great to document the every day moments that usually get forgotten. And such a great prayer journal idea as well. Have you heard of Timehop? It's kind of a social media version of this idea!
