Early Christmas & Simple Sunday Style

I broke one of those cardinal holiday rules, right?... decorating for Christmas before Thanksgiving. How, dare I. Friday was November 1st, which marked the beginning of Birthday week, or Birthday  month. Yes, sometimes I make it go all month long. Last year was my first year in L.A. and Tyler asked me what I wanted to do for my Birthday. I was still working through the transition of moving and doing anything in the city sounded overwhelming. All I wanted to do was eat Chinese food and watch movies. I desperately wanted it to feel like home, so I asked if we could decorate for Christmas. I knew that would remind me of home and make our apartment warm and cozy. It was our first Christmas as a married couple and I loved the idea of starting a fun new tradition of decorating on my Birthday. So this weekend we continued the tradition and decorated for Christmas. Our first year of marriage we spent Thanksgiving in Fresno and two weeks in Joplin for Christmas and we are doing the same this year. So I like to say that we decorate three weeks early to make up for the time we are gone.
Today's outtakes!

Birthday week started off with a bang! Decorating for Christmas, shopping, gifts from my mom and brother, and eating at Chick-fil-a! Eating at Chick-fil-a is a big deal because the only time we do is when we are in Valencia on a Saturday which isn't very often. There's a Chick-fil-a in Hollywood, but I think it's scary.

What are some of your Birthday traditions?

    1. Thank you! Agreed! Tyler and I are such nerds about Chik-fil-a, we get so excited about it. Every time we're back home and people want to meet up to eat we always say chick-fil-a!

  6. Ah, Christmas! The most I've been able to do is watch Elf (many times!) and listen to Christmas music. In our house, I have to win over not only my fiance, but also mom (we live with my parents right now) in order to be able to decorate before Thanksgiving. They haven't given in so far...

    1. Thanks! I like to pretend is snows too even though it never does, but having up the Christmas stuff makes my brain think it's cold out, even though it's not.

  9. I am in love with your Christmas decorations and that you've decorated so early! There's something magical about Christmas decorations that really brightens the mood and lifts spirits. I just might have to break out some Christmas decorations now... :)

And I also need to tell you how much I looovveee your outfit posts. I love your style (your braid is so cute!) and I also love your outtakes. They so remind me of when I take photos with my sister. She likes to take tons of photos which makes my smile look fake/forced which makes her annoyed which makes me annoyed and thus, I make a funny face at her. Oh, siblings. :)

Oh, and Happy Birthday week! Birthdays are the best and I hope this week is full of more good times and great food!

    1. Hey thanks! I really like v-neck tees. It basically means I can wear a t-shirt without being a complete slob.
